Attending my First DjangoCon!

This year, I attended DjangoCon US for the first time. I went hoping to learn more about Django and get some professional inspiration.
As someone relatively new to Django, I wasn't quite sure what to expect.
My first impression was how laid-back everyone seemed. People were there to learn, share what they'd worked on, and talk about Django.
I have a lot to learn
One of my biggest takeaways was realizing just how much I don't know yet.
One talk walked through Django's development from its early days through Django 6. It was interesting to see how much the framework has grown, while also realizing there are features that have been around for years that I had never heard of.
The talks
GeoDjango
The GeoDjango talk especially caught my attention. I was interested enough that I started playing around with it later that same day.
Dynamic landing pages in Wagtail
Unfortunately I missed this talk, but I look forward to watching it online! As someone who works with Wagtail on a regular basis, I look forward to the insights this will provide.
Django 6
There were a couple points I took away from this talk. I am interested in testing out the Django template tag partialdef. Also, I am looking forward to seeing how the built-in CSP on Django 6 compares to the django-csp package.
Taming your templates
This talk had me curious to look into the django-includecontents package and what it has to offer in the world of template organization and structure!
DjangoCon left me inspired
Hearing from people who have contributed to Django and seeing the things they've built was really cool. I'm still new to this field, so it was encouraging to see what's possible and to hear from people who have been at it for a while.
